Terms of ServiceFavicheck — August 21, 2026

No legal entity has been registered for this service. These terms are provisional. Until the operator registers a company and designates a jurisdiction, these terms are an interim statement of the service conditions and do not constitute a legally binding contract. Once a legal entity is established, these terms will be updated with the entity name and governing law.

Service description

Favicheck is a stateless diagnostic tool. It accepts a URL, fetches the page's HTML, extracts icon declarations, fetches each declared icon file plus two undeclared root fallbacks (/favicon.ico and /apple-touch-icon.png), and returns a report of what was found. The tool has no user accounts, no database, no persistent storage, and no scheduled functionality.

Use of the service

You may use Favicheck to check any URL you have the right to probe. You may not use the tool to harass, overwhelm, or attack any server. The tool performs a reasonable number of HTTP requests per check (one for the page, one for each declared icon, and two for root fallbacks) and is not designed or intended for abuse.

No data storage

Favicheck does not store URLs submitted, results generated, or any personal information. Each check is ephemeral. The tool's backend (a Cloudflare Worker) processes the request, returns the response, and retains nothing.

Intellectual property

The Favicheck name, logo, and website content are provided as part of the service. No licence is granted to reproduce, modify, or redistribute the Favicheck brand, tool, or source code unless separately authorised by the operator.

Billing

Free tier. The Free tier of Favicheck costs nothing. No payment information is collected, no billing cycle exists, and no charges are incurred.

Pro tier (not yet available). The Pro tier is under development and is not available for purchase. When launched, it will be a monthly subscription. No payment is being processed for Pro at this time because no payment processor is connected to this service.

Future billing model (for information). Once the Pro tier ships and a payment processor is connected, the intended billing model is:

Price: A fixed monthly fee for the Pro tier as stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
Billing period: Monthly, charged on the subscription date each month.
Failed payments: If a charge fails (e.g., card declined), the service will retry the charge automatically up to three times over approximately one week. If payment still fails, the subscription is paused and the account downgraded to Free. The user is not charged for paused time.
Cancellation: A user may cancel at any time. The subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial months.
Refund policy: All sales are final. Refunds for billing errors or duplicate charges will be handled on a case-by-case basis. No refunds for lack of use or dissatisfaction with the tool.

These details will be finalised and updated on this page when the Pro tier launches and a payment processor is connected.

Disclaimer of warranties

Favicheck is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. The tool reports what a server serves at the time of the request. It may report incorrect results if a server returns a default/fallback icon, or if the page content differs from what a browser would render (e.g., JavaScript-injected icons). The tool is not guaranteed to be available at all times.

Limitation of liability

The operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use Favicheck, including but not limited to reliance on diagnostic results that prove inaccurate.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of Favicheck after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. You are advised to check this page periodically.

No governing law is designated because no legal entity or jurisdiction has been registered. This section will be updated when the operator establishes a company.
